Drawing Block 3 Project A

So on this project we were using reductive techniques to produce an image then adding in the darker elements at the last second. Was really difficult to figure out especially as we were not allowed to draw in line all this week, just drawing in tone will be a challenge.
This was my initial studies using the reductive i have to say it was easier than i imagined, at the start of the day i was dreading this one because i dont think i've ever ddone reductive drawing beofre especially with a life model. The hardest part of this one had to be the determining of his light grey tshirt and his skin and the very white pillow as they were such close tones.

Okay I am pleased with this. Was measuring in this too but i didnt think i would be good at models lying down, as they're so different from what i've done previously in life drawing. wanted to give the model abit of spacial recognition as in the initial ones he's just floating around.

Again with charcoal worst part of this had to be the feet! GOD I CANT DO SHOES. coouldnt he of been bare footed?! yes im weird but anyway, definitly improved since my first try!

So in the afternoon for our final image we used reductive drawing but with oil paint and turps instead of charcoal and a rubber, wish we had more tries on this one though, as it was harder to work with. Think i done a pretty decent job on this especially it being my first try with the oils.
